Some Flowers Water Themselves

Some flowers water themselves
When the dessert remains
And the rain doesn’t come
But the thunder still rolls
And the wind does still howl
When the fire consumes
Safe in its soil of salty streams . . .

Some flowers water themselves
When the rain comes
But the waters are acidic
And the hydrogen air
Lacks nitrogen rich particles

Some flowers water themselves.
